Overview
A forever home. The dream of many British families but what if that forever home required a two barn conversion and, you're a family of nine? That was the challenge facing our client, a large blended family with busy lives based in an ancient parish and village of Dilhorne.
Challenge
The family farm was comprised of two barns with lots of potential. As the client was looking to build a forever home that could accommodate the family, they wanted to convert the agricultural buildings into a single eight-bedroom dwelling connected via a modern glass link corridor. With an ambitious self-build project in mind, the client needed one more thing - a good idea of where to start.
Solution
Our early involvement in the project meant that we started at the very beginning, from setting up the site to preparing all the required paperwork, including CDM Regulations. As the project gathered momentum, we worked alongside the client all the way from appointing specialist structural designers and assisting with funding and grant applications to working with the appointed contractors on-site and sourcing materials. Through regular site visits and frequent communication, we have helped them to build a fantastic home for their family.
As the project nears completion, the family is looking forward to moving in into their dream home. The once ambitious self-build project has come to life with our clients guided throughout the whole process to ensure a successful structured approach and a project that is completed on time and within budget.

The project was a dream to work on. The vision and emotions involved have made it a very personal one. With it being a quite complex domestic project with a low of newer energy solutions installed, it will be a proud moment to see the family move in.
